MARIE-PIER VALIQUETTE
Direction
Marie-Pier has been Director of the Musée de la gare for over ten years now. In addition to her background in visual and media arts, she can also draw on her passion for museology. The latter has developed over the course of her current tenure at the helm of the museum, and continues to grow. At the time of the closure of the local newspaper, le Contact, the director set herself the task of preserving the memory of this institution by conceiving, for the first time, a temporary exhibition.
Marie-Pier sits on the board of the Réseau muséal d'Abitibi-Témiscamingue (RMAT) as vice-president, and also holds the position of vice-president on the board of the Conseil de la culture de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue (CCAT).
In 2023, she was awarded the Prix Complice at CCAT's 23rd Awards of Excellence in Arts and Culture in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
