People Who Built Their Own Future

People Who Built Their Own Future

People Who Built Their Own Future is an exhibition conceptualized around the creation of the Tembec pulp and paper mill in Témiscaming. In 1973, after months of political wrangling, the workers completed the purchase of the Canadian International Paper (CIP) plant. This event has revolutionized the lives of citizens of the city, but also the world of entrepreneurship in Quebec. Poetic and intimate, the exhibition brings together visual archives and stories related to Tembec’s creation as well as the characters that marked this era.

Presented thanks to the financial support of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec, the cultural agreement of the MRC du Temiscamingue and the City of Temiscaming.
